A New Adventure
I'm moving to Uganda!
I am beyond excited for this new adventure God has prepared for me to teach at The Amazima School in Buzika, Uganda. About ten years ago I read the founder of Amazima's book (Kisses from Katie) and I remember being amazed, inspired, and a little intimidated about what saying "yes" to God could look like. Today, I'm so amazed that God chose me to join in Amazima's work, I'm inspired by the work happening in Uganda,....and yes, a little intimidated by all that saying "yes" involves.
I'm learning to trust God as I raise support, say good-byes, prepare to leave family and move overseas in July. I'm trusting that He will guide me each step to Uganda, and that He will be with me as I adjust to life in a new country.
God has blessed me with the most supportive family, friends, and church. To those of you who prayed me through the interview process, have promised to support me financially, or will be praying for me while I'm away, thank you!!! I cherish the love, support, and encouragement I've received from you!
The next three months will most definitely be a whirlwind as I wrap up teaching at Forest Lake, attend training in Georgia, get vaccinations, figure out paperwork, pack...and most of all, spend time with as many family members and friends as possible.
Thirty-two years ago, my parents boarded a plane with my sister, myself, a whole lot of luggage, and a desire to serve God in Brazil. They kept their friends and family updated on their ministry and family by mailing regular "What's Buzzin' in Brazil?" newsletters. Thankfully, in the year 2021 modern technology allows me to update people without having to depend on snail mail. Instead, this blog is "What's Buzzin 2.0" where I'll keep you up to date on the adventures of this Hummel as I follow my parent's example.
Thank you for praying for me as I head off on my new adventure. I'll be sure to keep you up-to-date!

If you get time off in Georgia we should try to meet up! It's not that far from NC! Praying for your new adventure!
