Webale!!! (Thank you!!!πŸ˜‰)

Hello friends and family! Happy New Year!!!!

I'm praising the Lord for all He has done in 2021. A year ago I had just submitted an interest form to Amazima with no idea of how my life would change in the following months. Thank you for being a part of praying for, encouraging, and supporting me as I joined the Amazima team and made the move to Uganda. What a journey this past year has been!

I've been up to so much since my last update, but here are some of the highlights:

*I wasn't able to go back to the US for the holidays, but I was able to spend 9 wonderful days in the UAE visiting friends, enjoying amazing food, hearing what God has been doing in and through friends in RAK, and stocking up on goodies like cream of tartar and taco seasoning. Thank you Alanna for your hospitality and all my UAE friends for making time to see me!!!

*The CED team (Amazima's social workers) invited us to help Amazima pack 1,000 Christmas baskets to distribute to students' families so they have enough for a Christmas feast for themselves and their neighbors. The packing of the baskets took four full days and a team of about 40 people to get it done.

*Delaney had the idea to do our own mini version of the Amazima baskets for the communities of Walukba and Musese. We went to distribute them with one of her friends who helped us decide who to give the baskets to and helped translate to the women who received the baskets.

*I had the opportunity to spend a week visiting the western part of Uganda with three other friends. We saw wild animals, spent time in nature, and enjoyed our friendship during the week. It was such a gift to get to know Cassidy, Delaney, and Chelsea better on this trip.

I am terrible at taking pictures, but thankfully I have friends who document the moments for me. If you're interested, check out this little slideshow of what I've been up to the past month and a half.

School dates have been announced. Praise the Lord!!!!!! This is what we have been waiting and praying for!!! I could work forever on setting up AEP (Accelerated Education Program), but I'll be ready and excited to go as soon as school officially reopens. Please pray for us as we prepare to welcome the children to school!!!

As the year comes to a close, I'm thankful for the way I've seen God direct my steps and provide for me. Thank you for the ways in which you've allowed yourself to be used by Him in my life. Happy New Year!
